Scott Martin #14

Scott Martin signed for Newcastle Eagles in the BBL back in 2013 straight from University of Notre Dame. Scott Martin quickly became a fan favourite averaging 15 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists per game. The Eagles won the league during Martin’s first year with the club while finishing runners up in both the Playoffs and the cup. Scott Martin’s second season was a HUGE one for the club as they completed another clean sweep with Martin averaging 14 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists per game. The 2015-16 season ended with the Eagles claiming another cup victory while again finishing runners up in the league and Trophy. Scott finished the season averaging 14 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists per game. Scott Martin’s last season with the Eagles produced another Cup victory and he finished with individual stats of 16 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists per game. After four seasons with the Eagles Scott decided to move and play in the Czech Republic.

Where are they now?

His one season with Czech team BK Pardubice ended with Martin sustaining another serious knee injury. After the season where he averaged 11 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists per game he decided that his professional basketball career was over.

He moved back to America and worked as a financial advisor for a company called Merrill Lynch. In June 2019, Scott received a phone call asking if he wanted to join the coaching staff at Notre Dame. Scott had wanted to join the coaching staff six years earlier but was encouraged to go and play more basketball. His role at Notre Dame revolves around player recruitment and assisting with the day to day operations of the team.
